Music. Heart. Soul.

Somestoriesareeasiertosingthantosay

Sad songs, honest words, and the quiet that comes after them.

Where to start

Picktheroomyouarealreadyin

Four ways in, depending on the night. None of them are playlists. They are just the shortest route to the song you came for.

How a song gets here

Fromavoicenotetothepage

Nothing here is scheduled. This is the whole path, and it takes as long as it takes.

  1. Somebody says it out loud

It usually arrives as a voice note at an hour nobody should be awake. Half a melody and one line that will not leave anyone alone. That file gets kept exactly as it came in.

  2. The words have to hold up dry

Before anything is recorded the lyric gets read out in a quiet room with no music under it. If it only works because of the tune, it is not finished, and it waits.

  3. One take, and the room stays in

We record until a take is honest rather than until it is clean. A voice that cracks halfway through a line is usually the take we keep, and the hum of the room stays where it is.

  4. It goes up when it is ready

No release calendar, no countdown. When a song is done it appears here, and the people who were waiting for that particular song find it.

Kuch baatein zubaan takaati hi nahin,wo sirf gaayi ja sakti hain.

Some things never make it as far as the tongue. They can only ever be sung.

Off stage, mostly

Open any one of them to see it full size, or walk the whole room at your own pace.

A letter, an ink bottle and roses left on a desk

A song of your own

Somethingsarebettersaidinasong

Tell us the story and one of our singers will write it and record it for you. An apology that never got made, a person you have run out of words for, a night worth keeping. It stays yours, and nothing goes on the site unless you want it to.

  • You tell it in your own words, no form letter
  • Urdu, English, or moving between the two
  • Audio, or filmed if you want something to watch
  • Yours to keep, and private unless you say otherwise

One more thing

Putitonwhenthehousegoesquiet

No playlist algorithm, no autoplay pushing you along. Just a handful of songs, in the order they were meant to be heard, for the nights that need them.

The letter

We only write when there is a song

No weekly round up and nothing to scroll past. When something is finished it goes out once, with the story behind it, and that is the whole arrangement.

One email per song. Leaving is one click and we do not ask why.
